ABOUT THE LAYOUT BOOK SERIES
These are a series of workbooks that I’ve designed to assist visual storytellers in sketching and planning Comic and Manga pages, as well as coordinating story panels for Webcomic episodes.
Each book features dotted boxes proportional to production-sized artboards utilized in Comics, Manga, and popular vertical scrolling Webcomics formats. The dotted boxes can be used to draw story panels, compose cover art or commissioned pinup art, and plan dialogue balloons (also called word balloons or speech bubbles). There are lined pages in each book for project notes.
There are three types of books in the series:
- Comic Layout Book – For Comic Book and Graphic Novel production work. This book is designed with single-page and double-page spread dotted boxes for layout (also called thumbnail) sketching.
- Manga Layout Book – For Manga and Doujinshi production work. This book is designed with single-page and double-page spread dotted boxes for layout (also called storyboard) sketching.
- Webcomic Layout Book – For vertical scrolling Webcomic platforms. (Example: Webtoons)
